Face-to-face workshop: 3 hours. Online simulation: 1 hour.

Dementia Australia offers both fully-funded and fee-for-service courses. When you register your interest below, we’ll contact you for an initial consultation where we’ll identify what is the most suitable training option for your budget and training needs.

Group bookings are limited to a maximum of 15 participants.

In the online simulator, you will gain knowledge in:

• the effect dementia has on communication
• how poor communication can trigger changed behaviour
• ways of communicating using a person-centred approach.

In our face-to-face workshop, you will learn:

• to reflect on your own communication skills and the impact of your approach on a person living with dementia
• the impact of dementia on communication
• the importance of human rights when engaging in communication
• to apply human rights principles in a meaningful conversation with a person living with dementia.
