Dementia Alliance
Dementia Alliance is dedicated to supporting families, carers, and communities affected by dementia. Our mission is to ‘reimagine dementia care’ by providing education, advocacy, and innovative care solutions that promote dignity, connection, and improved quality of life for individuals living with dementia. We believe that community connection is vital and that everyone should have the opportunity to age in place within supportive environments.
Central to our work is the Bush Inspired Community Model of Care, which emphasizes the healing power of nature, community, and culturally responsive care. This model focuses on creating safe, inclusive, and nature-based spaces that enhance well-being, foster social connections, and support both individuals with dementia and their carers.
A key initiative under this model is Reflections at Eppalock, a pioneering nature-based sanctuary situated on 20 acres along the tranquil shores of Lake Eppalock. This innovative project provides specialized respite accommodation, therapeutic nature-based activities, and community programs that promote cognitive stimulation, emotional well-being, and social engagement. Through environmental audits and effective communication modules, Reflections at Eppalock serves as a leading example of how nature can be integrated into dementia care.
At Dementia Alliance, we are committed to building strong community partnerships, sharing reliable information, and engaging in meaningful conversations that strengthen community trust. By working together, we aim to transform dementia care, ensuring that individuals living with dementia, their families, and carers are supported with compassion, respect, and innovative solutions rooted in community and nature.
