Far North Queensland Dementia Alliance
FNQ Dementia Alliance is run by volunteer members with support of the Edge Hill Cairns Bowls Club, Cairns' first dementia-friendly club acknowledged by Dementia Australia.
We support people living with dementia and their families by providing a social engagement opportunity at monthly morning tea with various activities including lawn bowling and art class (2nd Tuesday) and monthly information/education sessions with guest speakers from local services and organisations (4th Tuesday).
We have also established a network of local government, services and businesses to support each other in listening to the needs of people impacted by dementia to create more dementia-friendly communities.
We welcome all members of community and groups to join us in supporting and empowering people living with dementia and their families. Please contact us if you'd like to help us make a difference!
