St George & Sutherland Dementia Alliance
St George & Sutherland Shire Dementia Alliance was formed as a result of Dementia Friendly Communities project funding to 3Bridges Community in 2018.
It developed organically through the need to have a body to advise and guide the community care sector and local government on the needs and concerns of those living with dementia in Georges River, Bayside and Sutherland Shire LGA’s.
The Dementia Alliance accepts membership by community care services, businesses, LGA representatives and interested community members.
The Alliance will always endeavour to have a Dementia Advocate and those with lived experience of in dementia included in its membership. The Alliance will also canvass other community members with lived experience of dementia to inform and guide the activities and work of the Alliance.
“If you are passionate about making a positive impact in our community, raise awareness and promote an understanding about dementia we invite you to join our alliance. We aim to work towards making our LGAs dementia friendly and provide a supportive and inclusive environment for all.
