Hold the Moment – a podcast by people living with dementia
Dementia Advocate Jim Rogers (pictured above with his daughters Daisy and Millie) has been busy recording seven episodes for Dementia Australia’s first podcast, Hold the Moment.
Co-hosted by Jim, who is living with younger onset Alzheimer’s disease, Hold the Moment is a podcast by people living with dementia, exploring the question 'when you or someone you love is diagnosed with dementia, what happens next?'.
Through candid interviews with other Dementia Advocates and experts, the podcast tackles a range of topics such as talking about a dementia diagnosis and getting your affairs in order, as well as tips and strategies for areas of life such as relationships, exercise, travel and sleep.
Hold the Moment is a seven-part series and will officially launch in August in the lead-up to Dementia Action Week.
Jim can’t wait for the podcast to be released.
“I am beyond excited to share this with the world,” he said.
“I never thought I would co-host a podcast, especially one about dementia. But being part of this, alongside other Dementia Advocates, has been an amazing journey.
“I’ve learnt more about myself through the process and by sharing our stories, others impacted by dementia can know they are not alone.
“Hold the Moment allows you to get an insight into what people with dementia face every day. It covers the gore, the encouragement, the softer side and just how powerful a positive mindset can be when living with dementia.”
We look forward to sharing this exciting podcast with you when it launches on 20 August.
