Vale Trevor Crosby

We are sad to share the news that Dementia Advocate Trevor Crosby has passed away. Trevor had recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Trevor has had a very long association with Dementia Australia, and, prior to unification, Alzheimer’s Australia NSW as one of the very early members of what is now known as the Dementia Advocates Program.

Trevor was an incredibly strong and active advocate for people living with dementia over many years, from his first opinion piece in October 2015 in the Sydney Morning Herald where he shared his story of living with Lewy body disease – the positives and the negatives – through to meetings with Federal and State MPs and Ministers.

He also spoke at high-profile events, shared his story with media, advocated with Government at all levels and participated in research.

Additionally, Trevor was a member of various committees, participated in Dementia Australia awareness campaigns, and much, much more.

He was always so generous with his story and made such a positive impact in raising awareness, advocating for positive policy change and normalising living with dementia. Trevor was determined to elevate the importance of research and finding a cure.

Trevor loved to play golf and cricket, sail and do yoga. He championed the importance of exercise in supporting his physical health and wellbeing.

We honour and acknowledge Trevor for everything that he did and send our thoughts and best wishes to his wife Jill and their family.
