Elder Abuse in Regional, Rural and Remote Australia

Monash University

This project seeks to investigate elder abuse in regional, rural, and remote areas in Australia to identify types of abuse experienced and investigate the unique impact of geographic isolation on abuse victims and perpetration.

This project will engage advocates, practitioners, and individuals with lived experience to understand abuse impacts and barriers to support provision. Research outputs will inform enhanced, targeted response models for elder abuse in regional, rural and remote areas.

This study has been approved by the Monash University Human Research Ethics Committee (Project ID: 43926)
